This piece was sewn on my grandmother’s machine, and hand printed with linoleum blockIt features some of my favorite Guyanese foods. It’s an homage to my heritage. Food is such an integral part of my culture and unfortunately I hadn’t learned to make anything before making this. Since then I feel closer to my grandmother, and my father.
