Toshala Nauth

2D Character Animator, Background Designer, and Printmaker

Toshala is a Minneapolis based artist who enjoys finding humor in hardship. I find 2D animation, and mixed media to be the best way to get this across.

Big Banned Books
This piece was done in collaboration with Ali Astrup, Bryan Harroun, and Max Ylvisaker for Art To Change The World. It’s a commentary on how people are afraid of books giving representation to those that feel alone, or could teach valuable lessons they don’t agree with. I worked on the 2D animation, coloring, and background design.

Chasing Your Ghost
This is my senior thesis film. It revolves around a girl named Moksha going back to the ruins of her temple, and seeing an apparition of her brother who is presumed dead. It is meant to be a piece about grief, and how one needs to process their emotions in a proper way to carry on with their life. It’s currently a work in progress! Will not be fully posted until film festival run is over!
