Static Work

Food On The Cook

This piece was made from linoleum stamps, and was sewn on my grandmother’s sewing machine. Each tile is a Guyanese food I grew up eating. I’ve never really been a good cook, but I love to eat, so this work is ironic in a way.

Background Test
This was a test I did in Photoshop before I became familiar with the program. This is a background I will be using in a project soon and depicts the remains for a characters people as she wanders through the ruins of her old temple.

Time Based Work

Chasing Your Ghost
This is my senior thesis film. It revolves around a girl named Moksha going back to the ruins of her temple, and seeing an apparition of her brother who is presumed dead. It is meant to be a piece about grief, and how one needs to process their emotions in a proper way to carry on with their life. It’s currently a work in progress!

E col’ outside
This short is meant to reflect on an experience more than one Guyanese person I know has gone through. They think it’s nice because it’s sunny, and then go out and have their ‘oh shit’ moment and laugh about it later.

Why Would I lie
This short is based on an interaction I actually had at my job, although this is my internal reaction. I used my customer service voice for the real thing, which also means it was much longer

Big Banned Books
This piece was done in collaboration with Ali Astrup, Bryan Harroun, and Max Ylvisaker for Art To Change The World. It’s a commentary on how people are afraid of books giving representation to those that feel alone, or could teach valuable lessons they don’t agree with. I worked on the 2D animation, coloring, and background design.
